The deal to send Jake Allen to the Montreal Canadiens in 2020 from St. Louis is finally complete.
Here is what the trade was:
To Montreal
-Jake Allen
Seventh-round pick in 2022
Third-round pick in 2020
2020 seventh-round pick
We can officially declare this a steal of a deal, because with their 2020 picks, the Blues selected Dylan Peterson and Chase Bradley at this time. Two players who are not expected to play in the NHL, barring a surprise.
As for the Habs, and this is why the trade is complete, they drafted Quebec's Miguël Tourigny in the seventh round this year.
It's safe to say that this is a great move by Marc Bergevin!
