The Minnesota Wild seem to be the most likely suitors for Hertl. They have great wingers like Kirill Kaprizov and Kevin Fiala, but their center depth is limited. The Wild need every bit of support in the Central Division.
Thomas Hertl will fit beautifully between Kaprisov and Zuccarello
Boston Bruins
With David Krejci returning to the Czech Republic, the Boston Bruins may need a center depth boost. A Patrice Bergeron-Hertl duo would help the Bruins in a difficult Eastern Conference.
The Bruins are in serious need of a second line center and Hertl would be a great addition to the team.
Vegas Golden Knights
Golden Knights are in the same division as San Jose. Which means it is very improbable that they would trade him to them.
The Golden Knights have reached the Conference Final in three of their four seasons. Vegas also has promising centers Peyton Krebs and Nolan Patrick, who they recently acquired. A center core led by William Karlsson and Chandler Stephenson may be the difference between a competing club and a Stanley Cup winner.
They would become very deep in the center position.
