We learned earlier today that the Montreal Canadiens had reached an agreement with their head coach Dominique Ducharme for the next three seasons.
The salary of the Quebecer was not known until Pierre Lebrun released the information. Ducharme will earn $1.7 million annually.
If you compare it to guys like Bruce Cassidy in Boston ($3 million), Paul Maurice in Winnipeg ($3 million), Dave Tippett in Edmonton ($3 million), Jon Cooper in Tampa Bay ($4 million), Barry Trotz in New York ($4 million), Joel Quenneville in Florida ($5 million), Alain Vigneault in Philadelphia ($5 million) or Todd McLellan in Los Angeles ($5 million), the salary may seem small. But compare it to new wave coaches such as Jeff Blashill in Detroit ($800,000), Travis Green in Vancouver ($1 million) or Jeremy Colliton in Chicago ($1.5 million).
We can conclude by saying that this is a very fair salary for Ducharme.
