Gary Bettman's Embarassing Effort to Save the NHL All-Star Game Has Been Exposed
The NHL All-Star skills competition was underwhelming at best.
While watching Elias Pettersson shoot at 103.2 miles per hour was amazing, the in-person attendance for it was minimal.
We now know that in hopes to make the broadcast look more full, the NHL had staff move people from the upper bowl to the lower bowl.
A writer at our partner Maple Leafs Insider was one of the people moved from the upper bowl. While the seat upgrade was great, the underlying reality of the success of the event couldn't be glossed over.
Hopefully next years' event in Toronto will be better.
