Jack Edwards left speechless after Auston Matthews' game-winning goal
In their most recent playoff game, Toronto Maple Leafs fans were awarded with a hilarious moment when longtime Boston Bruins broadcaster Jack Edwards went silent after Auston Matthews scored the game-winning goal.
The series between Boston and Toronto is reaching a boiling point as the Maple Leafs redeemed themselves after a terrible first loss. Their last game, however, did not go without room for comic relief, as veteran Bruins broadcaster Jack Edwards was rendered speechless after Auston Matthews scored with less than eight minutes in the game.
"For a man who's usually got a lot to say, Auston Matthews left Jack Edwards literally speechless tonight."
To make matters worse for Edwards, this later turned out to be the game-winning goal for Toronto with a final score of 3-2. As expected, this gave more fans the fuel to poke fun at this announcer.
Though this was a great moment for Toronto fans, this unfortunately lost Edwards the chance of seeing Boston sweep the series in his final season as a broadcaster.
"Longtime #NHLBruins commentator Jack Edwards has announced his retirement at the end of this season."
The Bruins and Maple Leafs will face off for game three of their series again tomorrow. If Jack Edwards wants to be sent into retirement on a Cup-winning year, he will have to hope that Boston can kick their game back into gear.
