A reporter highlighted a modification to the NHL's protocol concerning their referees which hints at a possible upcoming stride in the sport's inclusivity.

Mark Spector reported in breaking news that the NHL made a big change to promote gender equality.
He shared in a recent post on X that the league change the word "linesmen" to "linesperson" on their official game sheets.
This could be a hint that we could see the first woman in history to officiate a game in the NHL.
