Calgary Flames defenseman Chris Tanev has been heavily involved in trade rumors this season. Now one insider believes he knows what the price is to acquire him.
Lebrun Reveals Flames Price For Defenseman Tanev
According to Lebrun, the Flames are not in a particular hurry to move Tanev. Rather, it seems the team would prefer to trade him at the deadline with the hopes of more teams bidding on him would increase his value.
However, any team can potentially get Tanev right now if the price is right. According to Lebrun, that price may be a 1st round draft pick. Lebrun frames the question from the point of view of the Leafs, who have been the team most linked to Tanev this season.
Any trade involving Tanev may be on hold though as the defenseman left his last game early with an apparent injury.
Tanev's Health Status To Affect Trade Value?
Tanev left the Flame's last game on Monday after playing just 11 seconds. He did not return to the game
This could have a significant impact on Tanev and the Flames as they have been looking to trade him. It is unlikely that he will still be out of action by the trade deadline, but for a team like the Leafs, who are looking for immediate help, this could be a serious problem. Tanev also missed the entire game yesterday as the Flames played a second half of a back-to-back. He is listed as day-to-day.
