Bo Horvat hints at his future with the New York Islanders
Well Bo Horvat is a New York Islander. It's going to take a while to get used to saying that, but Bo Horvat himself dropped a bombshell today that indicated we shouldn't acclimate ourselves just yet.
For a team that traded what will either be a pick in the mid-teens in the deepest draft in two decades, or a unprotected 2024 first rounder, as well as a prospect who was seen as a slam-dunk top-three pick in his D-1 season, plus a defensive forward on a good contract, it would be a expected there was a deal in place to extend Bo Horvat.
Unfortunately for Islanders fans, Horvat and the Islanders haven't had any extension talks at all.
After repeating three times in his welcome interview that he thought he would be a Canuck for life, he equally added this:
Horvat: No extension talks with @NYIslanders yet. "We'll see if we can something done, but I'll leave it up to Pat [Morris] to handle that."
If Horvat doesn't stick around on Long Island, this could be one of the worst trades in Lou Lamoriello's tenure as GM of the team.
