The presidents trophy curse is real folks.

The Boston Bruins have been eliminated by the wild-card Panthers. A massive upset nobody could have seen coming. Other than this being a huge disapointment for the Bruins, they might have other issues now.

Patrice Bergeron's career might be coming to an end.

A lot of people saw this team as a "last dance" kind of team. One last shot at the Stanley Cup. The main reason for that was because Bergeron and Krejci signed one year deals, and are getting old.

All signs point to Bergeron calling it quits, after every teammate of his gave him and hug and a few words. He got especially emotional with Brad Marchand, his teammate of over a decade.

Where Do the Bruins Go From Here?

If Bergeron and Krejci are actually done, then chances are this team is hovering around the wild card next year. They still have so many good pieces, but Bergeron's play and leadership will be very hard to replace.

Long term, they don't have a great prospect pool, so chances are if they decide to rebuild, it would take a while.

Bergeron should be a first ballot hall of famer, and it's not up for discussion at all. If this is really it, what an amazing career he's had. He really is an inspiration to so many young hockey fans.
