BREAKING: Two-time Stanley Cup Champion retires at 36
A two time cup winner and 800+ game veteran has decided to hang up the skates.
Helm Retires at 36
The Detroit Red Wings drafted forward Darren Helm 132nd overall back in 2005. Since then, he has carved out a nice NHL role in the bottom six of whichever team he is playing for.
Today, it was announced that Helm would be retiring from professional hockey at the age of 36.
He amassed 266 total points over 823 NHL games. He also tacked on an additional 26 points in 103 games in the playoffs. Helm won his first cup back in 2008 with the Red Wings as a rookie and won his second and final cup with the Avalanche in 2022.
