The Detroit Red Wings had a very dramatic game today as they hosted the Vancouver Canucks. The way the game ended is a must-watch.

Red Wings Defenseman Hits The Griddy After Game-Winning Goal

The Red Wings came back to force overtime after they trailed Vancouver 3-1 for much of the game. Once the extra frame took place the chaos continued as Red Wings defenseman Jake Walman was awarded a penalty shot. The Blueliner is known for having a good wrist shot and it paid off as he sniped home the game-winning goal.

Red Wings Move Closer To Securing Top-Three Spot In Atlantic Division

Walman had a lot of reason to celebrate the goal. For one, it set a new career high in goals for him at 11. Second, the extra point from the win tied the Red Wings in points with the Toronto Maple Leafs and gave them a one-point edge of the Tampa Bay Lightning. All three teams are currently in a hard battle for the 3rd spot in the Atlantic division. Getting two points against the League-best Canucks will go a long way to helping the team secure that coveted playoff spot.
