Stan Bowman back on the hot seat after controversial press conference response
In his first press conference with the Edmonton Oilers, GM Stan Bowman provided answers to a bunch of questions, and one answer caused more problems.
Bowman was asked a very serious question today during his press conference. During the question period, Bowman did reveal that he has a positive relationship with Kyle Beach, despite the 2010 incident. However, he was then asked if he had contacted "John Doe 2", which was the high school player that was s*****ly assaulted by Brad Aldrich after he left the Chicago Blackhawks organization in 2010. His response really got the angry mob even angrier.
TSN's Rick Westhead reported that Bowman didn't answer directly and said: «Anyone negatively impacted, I feel for them and I certainly wish they don't go through it.»
As Westhead reminds us, «John Doe 2 doesn't have the freedom to share his perspective and story publicly unless and until the Blackhawks release him from a non-disclosure agreement he had to sign when the NHL team settled his lawsuit.»
Hopefully Bowman will be able to calm the angry mob down by taking steps to rectify his relationship with "John Doe 2", just like he was able to do with Kyle Beach. In the meantime, it appears that Bowman has more serious things to deal with, such as a petition that has been going around to try and get him fired from his position. It already has received more than 3000 signatures, and it continues to grow with each passing minute.
A petition started by Oilers fans to keep Stan Bowman out has reached 3.2k signatures and rising.
