A new report has confirmed that one of the five players officially charged from the 2018 Canadian World Juniors scandal is now facing an additional charge.

Player From 2018 World Junior Team Faces Additional Charge

Today an announcement of the charges each player is facing has been put out. Carter Hart, Alex Formenton, Cal Foote, and Dillon Dube are all facing the same charge. Michael McLeod has a further charge on top of being charged with the same charge as the others.

New: Court documents obtained by @TSN_Sports and @CTVNationalNews confirm Dillon Dube, Alex Formenton, Carter Hart, Michael McLeod and Cal Foote have all been charged with s***** a******.

"Dillon Dube on or about the 19th day of June in the year 2018 at the City of London in the Southwest Region did commit a s***** a****** on E.M., contrary to Section 271 of the Criminal Code of Canada."

The document repeats the same allegation against each of the other four players and says McLeod is also facing an additional charge of s***** a****** for "being a party to the offence."

All of the players have said they will plead not guilty and the allegations against them have not been tested in court.

The players were arrested on Jan. 26 and their next appearance date is Feb. 5, according to the documents.

The additional charge essentially allows the court to charge McLeod with being there while the crime occurred and being aware it was happening without being involved in the act itself. It is not possible to know at this moment why McLeod is the only one facing this charge.

As more updates are made available about these charges and why McLeod is facing an extra charge we will provide them to you.
