A new report stated that a vezina-caliber goalie could be available on the trade market.
Juuse Saros has been among the most consistent goaltenders in the NHL these past few years. The Nashville Predators have been lucky to count on him for so long and now, it looks like they're ready to let him go... at the right price, of course.
Predators' general manager Barry Trotz could be tempted to trade him, given his high value.
In fact, what he's asking in return has been revealed.
Check it out:
The Maple Leafs could go a long way with a goaltender like Saros. His availability on the market could change a lot of things in Brad Treliving's plan.
Instead of reaching out for defensemen on the market, aiming for Saros could be tempting.
Even if the Leafs already don't have a lot of first round picks, they could sacrifice two more to get someone like Saros.
The current goalie unit is problematic in Toronto. If either Samsonov or Murray ends up leaving before the deadline, Saros would be a fine candidate for the job. He would also be great in helping Joseph Woll develop into the Leafs' future number one goalie.
Many teams could make a push for Saros, but we hope that the Leafs are among them.
