Mika Zibanejad is at the center of a lawsuit worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and things are not looking good right now.

Zibanejad And Brother Sued

In a dramatic turn of events, Mika Zibanejad and his brother Monir Kalgoum are in danger of losing their houses after their burger chain failed to pay back a loan.

Zibanejad and Kalgoum listed their houses as collateral and now it seems like the worst has come to reality.

"A total of four people and one company are being sued. Two of the individuals are New York Rangers star Mika Zibanejad and Monir Kalgoum, who have both invested in the hamburger chain Brödernas."

"Zibanejad and Kalgoum are included in the lawsuit because they chose to pledge their properties as collateral for a loan taken by Brödernas CEO Joakim Wiklander."

Court documents reveal that over $400,000 USD has yet to be paid back by Wiklander and the brothers are in danger of losing their homes for such.

Both Zibanejad and Kalgoum have yet to comment on the matter.

Zibanejad's On Ice Success

While it seems like this investment has paid off poorly, the 30-year-old center is still producing at an elite rate.

Last season he scored 39 goals and had 91 points and his success has carried over to this season with 4 assists through three games. The Rangers will need the star to continue to produce as they are a rather top-heavy team and with a lack of production from their stars, they could be bounced from the playoffs early on.
