Penguins Steal A Player On Waivers From Capitals
This afternoon the Pittsburgh Penguins made an unexpected move claiming a forward on waivers. The Penguins have claimed Matthew Phillips from his now former team the Washington Capitals.
PIT claims Phillips from WASH
Phillips has 30 games of NHL experience under his belt and is a defensive specialist. The Penguins would love to help him find his offensive scoring touch as well. Either way, the Penguins have added another bottom six-piece to help try and get them back on track.
The Penguins will now need to decide if he fits in their everyday lineup or try and sneak him back through waivers to develop in the AHL.
