Today Sheldon Keefe announced that a surprising player will be scratched for tonight's game. The player is leaving the lineup due to his specific struggles in one area of the game.
Keefe Healthy Scratches And Calls Out A Player
During his media availability this afternoon Maple Leafs head coach Sheldon Keefe revealed that forward
David Kampf would be a healthy scratch. Keefe refers to the defensive play of Kampf as a reason why he was taken out of the lineup.
Sheldon Keefe says there is going to be «less tolerance» for defensive mistakes going forward and cites David Kampf as a scratch as an example of that tonight. Pontus Holmberg will draw in. With Kampf leaving the lineup Pontus Holmberg will get his shot to show his skill at the NHL level.
The Maple Leafs will face off against another team that has underperformed this season the Carolina Hurricanes. Puck drop is scheduled for 7pm Eastern.
