Joe Bowen makes an official announcement on his future with the Maple Leafs
Joe Bowen, the voice of the Toronto Maple Leafs, made an official announcement about his career in a recent post on X.
When the Maple Leafs were eliminated from the playoffs, Joe Bowen made a post that hinted at his retirement.
"Thanks to all of the Leaf fans who chose to listen to @Jim_Ralph and myself on the @MapleLeafs radio network this season. A terribly disappointing ending to a great season. We look forward to next year but I admit I'm running out of opportunities. Enjoy your summer"
Many fans were left wondering what this could mean for the future of the Leafs' legendary commentator. However, an update straight from Bowen eased their concerns.
On X, he confirmed that he will be back next season alongside Jim Ralph for another year.
Here's what he wrote:
"Not going anywhere!!! Ralphie and I are back in October!!"
Following this declaration, a lot of fans showed their support on social media:
It's safe to say that Bowen and Ralph are two of the most appreciated sportscasters in the NHL. They are among the best in the business, and they have touched multiple generations of fans with their work.
Let's hope that the Maple Leafs can finally give them the opportunity of describing a Stanley Cup win next season.
