Bruins Forward Likely Facing Suspension After Delivering a Dangerous Headshot
Yesterday's game between the Bruins and the Panthers was intense. And it culminated after a dangerous hit by Tomas Nosek on Eric Staal.
Nosek Could Face Suspension After Headshot on Staal.
Late in the third period, as the Panthers were already leading 6-2, Tomas Nosek delivered a dangerous elbow hit to Eric Staal's head. Staal left the game, and chaos reigned for the remainder of the game.
No penalty was assessed on the play, despite the clear intentions of Nosek to hit Staal's head.
If Bunting received a three-game suspension for his hit on Erik Cernak, we should see the NHL's Department of Player Safety make a similar decision in Nosek's case.
If Nosek isn't suspended, there's no doubt that the Panthers will make him pay the next time he's on the ice.
The Panthers and the Bruins will play tomorrow, and the series is tied at 1-1.
