While according to Elliotte Friedman (Sportsnet), Letang and the Penguins are very far from a deal and would be "not at all on the same page", several rumors send the veteran to Montreal. Letang has already stated that the Canadiens would probably be his second choice (after the Penguins).

In any case, the chances seem good that Kris Letang will become free as a bird in July and decide to work out a deal with another organization.

On that subject, if Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton ever offer him a contract, what kind of deal can we expect? How long?

After all, Letang is now 35 years old and has a lot of playoff hockey in his body, having played very big minutes for almost 15 years. He's still dominant though, putting up an impressive 68 points (10 goals) in 78 games this season, but it still seems risky to give him too long a contract.

It all depends on what he's asking for.

Well, there is some news on that front.

According to the renowned Elliotte Friedman, the most recent contract offered by the Penguins to Kris Letang is now known.

It would be a four-season pact, worth just under $7.25 million annually.

Would you give him such a contract?

Letang believes he can play at least five more seasons. He is training hard to be a dominant player until he is 40 years old and he takes it very seriously.
