Gary Bettman and the NHL Face Criticism as Next Outdoor Game Location is Revealed
The last Stadium Series was in Nissan Stadium, where the Tampa Bay Lightning under Jon Cooper beat the Nashville Predators, 3 to 2 in their own territory. With that stadium series, Tampa Bay was another one of 27 NHL teams to compete outdoors.
The next possible venue for the next stadium series has been announced, but nothing is set in stone.
Kevin Weekes announced Raymond James Stadium as the next possible spot for the Stadium Series in 2023. However, this still remains a potential as the situation is still fluid as many variables remain in the decision-making. The Tampa Bay Lightning and Florida Panthers would be the teams involved.
With the next series being a match-up between the Panthers and Lightning, this will keep the Battle of Florida competitive and relevant in a time where the Florida Panthers are struggling to remain relevant, amongst multiple injuries and questionable coaching hires.
However, in the series between the Panthers and Lightning, the Panthers have the record for wins and given the last two years with Andrew Brunette and Joel Quenneville at the helm, it's not surprising. But Tampa Bay of course rules the post-season.
