Sportsnet's Eric Engels was the first to reveal the names of finalists and he indicated that Daniel Briere and Mathieu Darche would be among the last candidates still "alive" in this race.
Pierre LeBrun said:
"I just learned that agent Kent Hughes is back in the running for the Canadiens' next general manager. I think Montreal contacted him again this week, after he didn't participate in the first interviews. I would put Hughes among those 3-4 finalist candidates."
According to the «Journal de Montreal», the new GM will be chosen on Monday.
