Head Coach Compares Young Player to Alex Ovechkin
Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Bruce Boudreau compared young player Andrei Kuzmenko to Alex Ovechkin at today's press conference.
His shot is just like Ovi's.
Kuzmenko was a touted free agent coming out of Russia this off-season. The Canucks were ultimately able to convince him to join their team. Kuzmenko had 53 points in 40 KHL games last season. In two NHL games, he has scored one point - a goal.
Alexander Ovechkin is on his way to passing Gordie Howe for second all-time in goals scored at the NHL level. His career goal is to pass Wayne Gretzky's 894. He currently sits at 780.
This comparison is significant praise from the head coach, and Kuzmenko will clearly receive lots of opportunities this season.
