Insider Blames A Specific Country for the Postponement of the World Cup Of Hockey
We reported earlier that the World Cup of Hockey had been postponed from 2024 until at least 2025.
At that time, the reason of the postponement was unknown, but hockey insider Kevin Weekes has given some clarity on the situation.
Weekes' sources have suggested that Russian participation is to blame. With no clarity on Russia's status, as they are currently involved in a war, it is difficult to schedule an international event.
Russian hockey is a massive proponent of the NHL, and of hockey culture, and it would be a big decision to move on without Russian players.
It will be interesting to watch how it all unfolds.
