He was believed to be the odds on favorite to be named the GM for the Habs including a poll done by fans where Patrick had 42 % of the votes. Roy has coached in the NHL before with the Colorado Avalanche and also with the Quebec Remparts in the QMJHL.
Benoit Groulx
Groulx was one of the most well respected coaches in the QMJHL. Groulx is now the head coach of the Syacruse Crunch in the AHL. He could be an excellent choice for the Canadiens.
Guy Boucher
His name has came up numerous times previously for coaching the Habs. Boucher has coached in the NHL before with the Ottawa Senators and Tampa Bay Lightning. He's been called a player's coach and works well with younger players. Boucher could be the right guy especially with the Habs likely rebuilding.
It is also believed that Kent Hughes wants to add Vincent Lecavalier to his team possibly as the assistant general manager.
