The popular Eyes On The Prize site has released a podcast in the last few hours featuring Montreal Canadiens prospect Frederik Dichow in net.
The podcast hosts, Patrik Bexell and Dylan Waugh, believe that Dichow is very talented, but he needs to gain some muscle mass and also improve his speed.
Here are Dylan Waugh's comments:
"I think he's surrounded by great people who are going to be able to get the best out of him, but it's going to be all or nothing in his case. He'll either become a great goalie in the NHL, or he'll just never play in the NHL. He has so much talent, but it's a matter of using it well." -Dylan Waugh
Waugh didn't beat around the bush when comparing the CH's young netminder and compared him to Tampa Bay Lightning goalie Andrei Vasilevskiy.
"I think the comparison to Andrei Vasilevskiy is pretty good. I'm not saying Dichow is the next Vasilevskiy since a lot of things have to happen for that to happen. But he has all the tools to establish himself in the NHL. He's really going to have to work on his weaknesses or he's going to look very bad." -Dylan Waugh
Dichow played 28 games last season with the IK Kristianstads and maintained a 2.27 goals-against average and .929 save percentage.
He will play for Frolunda HC next season and the Habs have until August 2025 to sign him.
