The Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs have been rivals since the original 6 days. However with the Canadiens looking to be sellers, and Toronto buyers, there's a rumour of a potential trade between the two.
Hockey insider Darren Dreger on TSN 1050 talked a possible trade to aquire defenceman Ben Chiarot from the Montreal Canadiens. The new general manager Kent Hughes is looking to add some picks and prospects to begin his vision of what he wants to build in Montreal.
While the Toronto Maple Leafs are looking to finally get past the first round and make a deep run the playoffs. Big Ben Chiarot was a key part for the Canadiens success during their run to the Stanley Cup Final.
Ben Chiarot is a pending UFA at the end of the season, he has 5 goals and 3 assists in 36 games this season with the Canadiens.
