Our friends at HockeyFeed today shared a great story of the Greco family.
Anthony Greco played in his first NHL game with the New York Rangers. He grew up in Queens, New York, rooting for the New York Rangers, just like his father did.
Sadly, Anthony's father Paul Greco never got to witness his son play. Paul was a long-time New York City firefighter who reacted to the horrific events of September 11th, 2001.
When the Twin Towers fell in New York City, Paul Greco was one of the brave first responders who tried diligently to save as many of his fellow countrymen as possible.
Paul died at the age of 54 after a protracted fight with ailments caused by breathing in the toxic air around Ground Zero after the towers fell, a narrative that has become far too familiar in recent years.
What a story!
