Ryan O'Reilly's Last Day as a St. Louis Blue Highlights Great Leadership
Ryan O'Reilly is a Toronto Maple Leaf. This is going to take a while to get used to, but it is very real now.
As a member of the St. Louis Blues, he won a Stanley Cup, as well as a Selke Trophy and a Conn Smythe Trophy. He was equally the teams' captain, and on his last day as a Blue, he spent it in the best way.
In 2020, a young boy names Hank Walker chose his Make-a-Wish to be to play with Ryan O'Reilly and the Blues. Thus, the Blues signed him to a one-day contract, and he got to take the ice with his favourite team.
O'Reilly showed Hank the basics, such as how to throw a crushing bodycheck:
The Leafs are getting more than a great player in this deal. They're also getting an amazing person.
The two spent the day together, and it will be a memory of a lifetime - for both Hank, and Ryan O'Reilly.
