Bedard had a fantastic season in 2022-23, leading the WHL in scoring with an incredible 143 points - a whopping 36 points ahead of Prince George's Chase Wheatcroft, who came in second with just 107 points.
Before the trade deadline, Connor Bedard had an opportunity to join the Kamloops Blazers, a team that had a much better shot at winning the championship.
Despite this, Connor Bedard decided to stay with the Pats and declined the trade offer to Kamloops, according to Elliotte Friedman on 32TP.
If Bedard had accepted the move, the Regina Pats would have received a substantial return.
Additionally,Connor Bedard would have had the chance to play alongside Fraser Minten, who was the top Leafs draft pick in 2022.
Although there's no guarantee the two forwards would have played on the same line, they likely would have seen plenty of power play time together, which could have helped boost Minten's point total.
While it's exciting to imagine what could have been, Minten still had an impressive season, scoring 31 goals and 36 assists for a total of 67 points in just 57 games - even without Bedard around to help inflate his totals.
