BREAKING: Nathan Mackinnon leaves the game after landing head first on the ice
Nathan MacKinnon is in the midst of the best season of his career. He is the front runner for the Hart Trophy as league MVP, and he is leading the Colorado Avalanche to what may be another playoff success story.
Unfortunately, he faced a major setback tonight, as he tripped over the back of the net, splitting his chin, hitting the ice face first, and will have to leave the game.
This is especially scary considering that impact may have caused a concussion.
Hopefully he has avoided the worst and will be able to return to continue his fight for the league MVP, as well as the journey towards another Stanley Cup for the Colorado Avalanche.
