Dany Heatly Returns To The NHL Years After Retiring
Dany Heatly played his final NHL games back in 2014-15 but that has not stopped him from finally making a return to the NHL.
Heatly Returns To The NHL
Since retiring from NHL hockey back in 2014-15, Dany Heatly has yet to find a position within any NHL organization. While his career ended abruptly, Heatly is now looking to return to the NHL with the Philadelphia Flyers.
"Forgot to report this last week given how busy it was, but I heard at the draft to keep an eye out for Dany Heatley potentially joining the Flyers' organization in the coming days/weeks in a scouting role."
The Baggage He Carries
Heatly had one of the most controversial NHL careers of recent memory. In 2003, he killed one of his teammates, Dan Snyder, after speeding and running into a wall.
Due to this and a few other reasons, he has been completely blacklisted from the NHL since his on ice retirement. However, Flyers GM Daniel Briere is looking to bring a new era to Philadelphia which will see him take big risks like Heatly.
The former 50 goal scorer certainly will have an eye for top talent but the Flyers will need to make sure his upside outweighs all of the risk associated with him.
